Spring 2007 Update
April - May 2007
This spring season has been very busy for Boreal cattery. Paula and Christopher produced three beautiful kittens. Paula and kittens are doing very well.

One more time Paula has demonstrated extraordinary maternal qualities, unconditional love and exceptional dedication to the kittens.

Our beloved Charlie is now living with a new loving family where he will live for the rest of his life. It was a difficult decision particularly for Natalie for whom he had become a constant companion. His passion for fine dining and an easy going attitude proved to be a dangerous combination in a cattery environment. The constant food availability was too much for him to resist and a weight problem had developed.

His health being our primary concern soon left no other option but to find a family that could love him and effectively control his diet. We miss him terribly, but, find joy in the fact that he is in good hands with Alla and Aglayia's family. The Cambridge Ontario CFA cat show was successful for Boreal Cattery. We met and introduced the British Shorthair breed to many new cat fanciers, renewed contacts with fellow breeders, and enjoy time with both old and new friends. All were impressed by Bloke's friendly disposition and good looks. Babe's sweet character and beautiful feminine attributes didn't go unnoticed either. We were thrilled to have as neighbour Nigel-Of-Kelcobber, a 2-year old blue British Shorthair male shown by our friend Cheryl Kelly. Both Bloke and Babe received their CFA Champion titles opening the door for them to advance toward their Grand Champion titles. They soon will be International Champions representing the British Shorthair breed on both side of the border.

During the last two months our Kaloofa Downunda Babe has participated in five CFA shows in the United States and accumulated quite the accolade. She placed 139 best kitten out of 2,000 in the Great Lakes region. We would like to congratulate her and thank Cheryl Kelly for showing our precious Babe in the United States.

Adopting families are presently being contacted and photos of Paula and Bazyia's precious little ones will soon be seen on the Kitten Page for all to see.

All About Pets Show

April 6 - 8, 2007

Thank you very much for visiting us at the Toronto International Center during the Easter Weekend. British Shorthair CatBloke and Yiana made many new friends, many had never heard of British Shorthairs before.

Boreal Yiana completed all her requirements for the Canadian Cat Association Champion Title and will be a important part of our breeding program. She is already demonstrating a lot of interest for our newest kittens as if she desires little ones of her own.

Downunda Bloke on his second appearance at a cat show attracted a lot of attention from admiring fans, many, often coming back a few more times for another look at his beautiful round eyes and irresistible personality.

Bloke and Yiana demonstrated a natural disposition for the show environment, remaining cool, calm and collected where many other cats exhibited sings of stress.

The competition was fierce due to the fact that we are near the end of 2006-2007 Show Season and most breeders enter their best cats to accumulate highest point counts for the top 25 cats or kittens.

Despite this tough competition our Yiana managed to collect her four Winner's Ribbons and Bloke qualified for two finals and received a second and ninth Best Kitten awards. His parents and breeder at Kaloofa Cattery in Australia will surely be very proud of him.

He will go on, accompanied by Downunda Babe, his half sister, to participate in both the Cat Fancier's Association "CFA" and the Canadian Cat Association "CCA" in order to acquire their Champion and Grand Champion Titles, distinctions hard to achieve. We wish them both great success and a stellar future as part of Boreal Cattery.

Boreal News
January - March, 2007
British Shorthair Cat

We would like to introduce the newest member of our family, Christopher Big Joy (Kissik), a gorgeous Lilac British Shorthair stud born in Israel. His parents have Russian and British background with impressive pedigrees that include Coppins, Westways, and Wonderfleur*Ru catteries.

We adopted Kissik in January 2007 along with his life long buddy Neo, a blue-pointed European Burmese. Their previous owner felt that an upcoming relocation abroad wasn't the right thing for their well-being....

Neo has since been adopted by a kind loving semi-retired lady who lives downtown Toronto and has quickly become the pride and joy of her life.

Kissik took to his new role in the cattery with great enthusiasm. His latest romance with Paula has produced 3 beautiful lilac kittens. He will be assuming his role along with Samuel and Bloke in the cattery and sire many more beautiful Lilac British Shorthair kittens.

His beautiful character and physique makes him a perfect addition to our feline family.
