The British Shorthair is a comparatively rare cat in the United States. Around 1980 it was recognized for championship competition by CFA stimulating much needed interest in the breed. Recognized world-wide, many fine “Brits” are still imported today from England, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia to help widen the gene pool for breeders in the United States.

The 2008 Hamilton show was a big success for Dexter. Not only did he win many Best of Breed ribbons, but also he was chosen quite a few times for the top ten finals including the Best All Breed Kitten in Show.

We are very proud of our latest acquisition, Downunder Dexter is the last son of the famous Will Power from Kaloofa Cattery of Australia. Words cannot express our gratitude to Carolynne Power for entrusting us with such a beautiful cats.
Our goal since the start has been to promote and elevate the quality and standards of British Shorthair cats in Canada. This latest addition puts us well on our way towards achieving this objective. Having Kaloofa's world famous cats as foundation and selective use of our European and North American lines Boreal Cattery will soon be the cattery of choice for British Shorthairs.
The luxurious coat, physique and wonderful personality by which Kaloofa's British Shorthair cats are world renown for will soon be the standards by which all British Shorthair cats in Canada will be judged by.
Dexter's Dad, Kaloofa Will Power has just retired after a long and illustrious breeding and show career. He is enjoying life as a beloved family pet.
