If social contact with people does not begin until after 7 weeks, kittens develop into more withdrawn adults

The cat's brain is already well developed at birth and continues to develop at an astonishing rate for the next 3 month... Early sensory stimulation results in greater brain power, more control over emotions and ease with living with people.

... early and routine handling, from three to seven weeks of age, produce adult cats that head- and flank-rubbed, chirped, and purred when humans approached.

Routine handling also helps kittens grow faster and possibly bigger. If social contact with people does not begin until after seven weeks, kittens develop into more withdrawn adults.

... calm mothers, at ease with people, teach their kittens to be equally at ease in the presence of such potentially intimidating predators as we are.

Blue British Shorthair kitten...
Chaucer (Bazyia's Black Boy) joined Gillian from Toronto. Chaucer' name fits in nicely with his noble and creative British heritage.
Definitely he'll find all sorts of mischief to get into. As to his nobility, time will tell if he'll morph into the perfect little English gentleman !!!

Letter to home:

Hi Guy and Natalie!

We have had a blast settling in with Bella .
She is a fun-loving, sweet, and very curious little kitty. She is the highlight of our day.

Thank you so much for getting her to us as soon as you did. She has adjusted really well and we think she will be really happy with us.

Here are some pictures of her first couple of days. Hope your cat show went well.

Take Care.

Blue British Shorthair kitten... Oscar (Bazyia's Yellow Boy) now lives in
Newmarket with Kelly
Thank you Mommy, finally I got a name !!!
Love you! Oscar
Kelly's update on Oscar:

Hi Guy & Natalie,

I just wanted to let you know that Oscar is settling in nicely at our house.

He is eating, sleeping, playing, and using his litter box regularly. He’s very clean and bathes himself right after he eats or uses his litter box.

He cried a bit on Saturday night when we first went to bed, but settled right down when I let him sleep with us (he was purring so loud, we couldn't sleep!).

Last night, we didn't hear a peep out of him and I think he slept on our couch in our family room because he was waiting there for me this morning when I got up.

We love him so much already.

Thank you for everything…he was well worth the wait. I will be sure to send you pictures of him as he grows.

Take care,
Kelly
